Cranial Specialist

Cranio-sacral practitioners treat a wide range of conditions, from physical injuries and functional disorders (such as digestive, menstrual, nervous) to emotional disturbances and persistent symptoms of obscure origin. It has also been found to be effective in generally enhancing health and vitality, balancing and integrating the whole person on many levels.

Cranio-sacral therapy is extremely gentle and can therefore be used in acute or delicate conditions, and for babies, children and the elderly. It works on a profound and subtle level, influencing the central nervous system and penetrating to deep-rooted causes.

The cranio-sacral system consists of the cones and of cranium and sacrum, the dural membranes, surrounding the brain and spinal chord and enclosing the cerebro-spinal fluid, and the fascia enveloping every organ, muscle, nerve and blood vessel throughout the body, Any imbalance within the system may induce disorders in the rest of the body. Therefore cranio-sacral practice can be used to diagnose and treat dysfunctions throughout the body.

Cranio-sacral practice works with the body, stimulating its inherent self-healing powers. Although many conditions can benefit, certain ones benefit specifically. These include skull injuries and trauma to the head; whiplash injuries, learning difficulties, dyslexia, hyperactivity, epilepsy and various other developmental problems; meningitis; sciatica and back pain; problems due to post-operative scar tissue; and emotional trauma.
